Denarius Silver (TSX: DSLV) is about to begin drilling for its assets in Spain. The company will launch its first drilling program in the Lomero-Poyatos project in the Iberian pyrite belt in southern Spain.
The drilling program includes a total of 23,500 meters and aims to verify the historical data previously collected at the property. Drilling will be carried out in a historical mine of the property, and then will include a 50×50 meter fill drilling plan in the lower level of the mine. A total of 81 drill holes were used for testing, including 17 extended holes.
The property itself includes the former Lomero-Poyatos concession, which includes a historic mine in the Iberian pyrite belt. It is said that the planned drilling program has been fully funded.
"We are very pleased to start the diamond drilling program for the Lomero-Poyatos project, which allows us to start testing the existing deposit, which is historically estimated to be 20.9 tons of 3.1 g/t gold, 62 g/t silver, 0.9% copper , 0.9% lead and 3.1% zinc. Serafino Iacono, Denarius’ interim CEO and executive chairman, commented that the Lomero-Poyatos deposit was neither sloping downwards nor cut off during the strike, indicating significant growth potential.
It is planned to use two drilling rigs to drill the property, and drilling is scheduled to start this week.
Denarius Silver's last transaction price at TSX Venture was $0.54.
